MCR is world renowned for creating head-turning finishes on every restoration project. Paint options range from OE-correct to unique custom finishes and everything in between. We will discuss color options with you as well as different paint styles. Unique paint colors and details such as striping and graphics, and the level to which you desire your vehicle to be restored, all affect the time and expense required. Whether you wish your vehicle to be attractive and well preserved for family enjoyment, or you envision museum quality, we endeavor to exceed your expectations on all levels.
Body Work
Now that your vehicle has taken shape in the metal shop, the modifications and upgrades that you envisioned are complete. The bodywork phase of your journey comes next. The materials and time devoted to body work are crucial to the final quality of your vehicle. Outlined below are some of the techniques that our body work technicians will complete on your restoration:
- Primer protection, epoxy or e-coat
- Duraglass of lead seams and seam sealing
- Uniform foundation creation by using primer, filler, and sanding
- Complete coverage of vehicle including backsides and undersides
- Partial mock-up: checking door gaps, trim, weather seals, and other pieces
Paint
Once your vehicle body is uniform and straight, it’s time to apply color. MCR’s masterful painters will explain options so you can make the best decisions for how your dream car will look. This stage of the restoration includes:
- Epoxy primer-sealer
- Base and clear coating
- Finish levels including:
- OE factory correct driver
- Show quality cut and buffed to mirror quality
- Finish levels including:
- Undercoating
- Trunk spatter
- Striping and graphics
